Ms. Harvey's Poem for Kindergartners
Kindergarten Strong__

Ms. Harvey is your teacher this school year.
She will be there to say encouraging words in your ear.
She promises to teach you everything she knows.
So that you become wiser as you grow, grow, grow!
But there is one thing that you must do.
And that is to stay focused and smile all year through!

In Kindergarten we are learning:

COPING SKILLS
This will be an amazing year! You will learn how to follow routines and expectations, manage transitions and changes in routine. We will also work with you on building techniques on how to tolerate frustration appropriately.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS
We pride ourselves on showing respects for peers and adults. We respect our environment and understand that positive and negative actions have consequences.
SOCIAL SKILLS
In Kindergarten, we will interact appropriately with other children in large and small groups. We will also take turns with adults and peers. We always work to resolve any conflicts that we may have with peers in a healthy and positive way.
EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE SKILLS
Students are encouraged to communicate needs with peers and adults. Students will be expected to seek help to address academic needs and actively participate in conversations using reciprocal dialogue.
ACADEMIC SKILLS
Please see Kindergarten standards page for more a detailed description.
